Hi, my
name is Anna Florell and I own the Kennel Minjimba Ridge.
My dogs and I live in a house in Fåglavik near Herrljunga in the
west of Sweden (about 1 hour inland from Gothenburg).
Tage
the cat also lives with us.
Of the
five siblings in my family, three of us have breeding dogs as a major
common interest.
My oldest brother, Janne, lives in Norway and breeds Belgian sheepdogs,
Malinois, Tervuren, Grönendal and even Lakenois.
My oldest sister Lisbeth lives in Nossebro and has bred Dobermans. These
days she also breeds Jack Russell Terriers
and has recently imported an American Staffordshire from Italy. One
of my other brothers has a Perro De Aqua Espanol as his family dog.
Here is
a bit about me and my (dog)life and how my interest for the Ridgeback
began.
My sister Lisbeth bought her first Ridgeback, SUCH Sandy (livernose)
born: '79 of Haibas Garo and Vendetta.
They went to a number of shows with her and I was also present. Unfortunately,
Sandy passed away early at the age of 6.
I bought my first dog when I was 15 years old. It was a New Foundland
bitch named Emma.
Emma was a wonderful friend who was not suitable for showing but we
did a lot of other fun things together.
Two years later, another New Foundland by the name of Kevin joined our
family. Keving was of show quality and we attended many shows with good
results.
Sickan (9 months), a brown NF bitch came several years later. She was
totally wild but a wonderful dog.
As icing on the cake, Skorpan the Papillon bitch moved in. Today Skorpan
is 13 years young! She has given birth to three litters.
In the year 2000, I bought my first Ridgeback, a bitch named Meester
Ridge Jimba.
It is from Jimba that the kennel Minjimba Ridge gets its name.
In 2002 I bought Kamba Anatulinda's Fuzu Yazza from Asbjörg and
John-Sigve Berg in Norway.
In 2004 Jimba gave birth to her first litter by Kamba Anatulinda's Enzi.
Sambo remains with us from that litter.
Later on, Fjäril came back to us due to a sudden death in the family
where she lived, and suddenly there were four Ridgebacks in the house.
Today Fjäril has a new home, Cai (father of Jimba's second litter)
is living with us, and we have Buzu from that litter as well as
Grace who we bought from Kennel Kangelani in Norway.
Alongside my interest for dogs, I have worked actively with horses in
both riding and trotting.
These day the dogs take up all my spare time and as such I have put
the horses "on ice".
My greatest interest is currently breeding, showing and my dog courses.
But most enjoyable with dog sport are all the new friends one makes
along the way.
We have so much to learn and experience together with each other and
our dogs. I hope it will continue for many years to come.
